What is Marian Camp?

Encountering the love of Jesus and Mary is at the heart of Marian Camp. Throughout the four days, campers and volunteers are given the unique opportunity to participate in the charism of the Marian Sisters: To do God's will joyfully in imitation of Mary and St. Francis.  Under the guidance of a full time chaplain and the Sisters, young ladies are provided with occasions of prayer, the Sacraments, teachings by the sisters, team building, service and a whole lot of fun!

Applicant Expectations
May the peace of Christ be with you! We are beyond glad you are considering to be a pivotal part of the Marian Camp experience. At Marian Camp, the counselors have a beautiful opportunity to be a role model of what it means to be a confident and selfless Daughter of God. We, the Marian Sisters, always look forward to the unique experience that camp brings each summer. Most of all, we always delight in sharing God’s Love through our community’s charism of Franciscan and Marian joy! As a counselor, you would aid us in spreading this charism to the campers. As spiritual mothers, religious sisters are called to be the arms, ears and heart of Jesus in a special way. We are deeply grateful for your desire to help in representing our community and carrying out this task with us. Being a counselor is a commitment. It is more than a service opportunity. It is a time to be formed to fully live as a Beloved Daughter of the Father and be an example to the campers. The following are some duties that are required of each counselor. Please look these over to ensure that you are able and willing to fulfill these requirements. Our faith is the center of Marian Camp. We have listed out some points to give a general idea of how you can be a witness of Christ’s love, while being fully supported by the sisters.
Specific Duties
  • Attend one of the formation days in the spring and training the day before camp.
  • Stay with your assigned group to lead the campers while working with fellow counselors and the sisters.
  • Participate in all activities with your group and encourage all campers to participate.
  • Give direction to your group of campers during meals, chores, and in the cabin.
  • Take initiative and follow directions given by sisters, cooks, or dads.
  • Volunteer for duties during set up day and throughout the camp.
  • Be a Christian witness. The campers look up to you.
  • Recognize shy or homesick campers, and help them feel welcome.
Living out our faith
  • Actively participate in Mass and other times of prayer.
  • View other campers and counselors in the image and likeness of God through respecting their dignity with your words and actions including refraining from gossip and use of profanities.
  • Showing reverence for your body by dressing modestly. Shorts must have an inseam of at least five inches.
  • Live a life of service and do your duties with joy. In a particular way, by putting the needs of your campers before your own preferences.
  • To be fully present cellphones will be collected upon arrival and returned at the end of the session.
Thank you for your desire to help at Marian Camp this summer!
In the Heart of Christ,
The Marian Sisters

Can dads come?

Yes, dads of campers are welcome to help with the "heavy lifting" of setting up activities for the camp and volunteer service for the campgrounds.  In addition to volunteering their time and talents, the crew of dads have opportunities to grow in prayer and fellowship.
  • The total amount of dad volunteers will be limited.
  • Volunteers must be present for the entire duration of Marian Camp.
  • To cover costs and hold the volunteer spot, a $40 non-refundable fee is required.
  • Thank you for your cooperation to ensure the smooth running of Marian Camp!
